A 37-year-old midfield soul - David Silva, who was inadvertently seriously injured during a training session at Real Sustat's training ground, suffered cruciate ligament damage to his knee and the situation is not optimistic, fearing that he will miss the entire season's competition. According to Radio Sel, Relieve and other Spanish media, the senior player may be about to announce the end of his 20-year career.

Real Sociedad officials confirmed that Silva felt an abnormality in his knee during training, and after an examination, it was confirmed that he had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, quite similar to what happened to Italian star Chiarliani in 2019, an injury which is extremely difficult to treat and is expected to be out for a longer period of time, perhaps even missing all the matches of the new season.

Silva made 32 appearances for the team last season, contributing two goals and seven assists in a respectable performance, and extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2024. However, the Spanish media have revealed that he could face a long layoff considering his age, which is on the verge of retirement, as well as his serious injury. Even if he is able to return to the field in the future, it will be difficult for him to recover to his former level, therefore, the possibility of early retirement cannot be ruled out.
