Manchester United captain Harry Magouni, depressed after losing his leadership position, has recently made a transfer request to the club. He demanded that the club pay him a £20 million (about HK$200 million) release fee over the remaining two years of his contract, or he was adamant that he would leave the club.

Magouni was one of the players United planned to sell this summer, with several teams showing interest in him during the transfer window, including Westham and Inter looking to take him on loan, while Chelsea and Newcastle were interested in acquiring him. However, these deals ultimately failed to materialize due to Magouni's exorbitant salary demands. The Saudi side's silence also kept him at United for the time being. Nonetheless, he faced competition from Walani, Ricindo Martinez, Vitorian Diluve, and Rauki Suhr, who can play as a center back, leaving Magouni as the fifth option on the bench.

Magouni has two years left on his contract, which expires in 2025, and has a one-year extension option. He currently earns £190,000 (about HK$1.9 million) a week. Originally, Magouni still had a strong sense of belonging to United and planned to earn his way onto the pitch, but the loss of the captaincy has made him change his mind and begin to consider leaving the team.
