Red Devils Manchester United have once again made waves in the transfer market with the official unveiling of their new goalkeeper on Friday (21) - Cameroonian international Onana has moved from Inter Milan, signing a five-year contract. The deal is said to be worth as much as 47 million pounds (HK$472 million), making Onana the third most expensive goalkeeper in history. Onana was passionate after joining the club: "It's a great honor for me to join Manchester United, and the moment I've been fighting for my whole life has finally come!
The 27-year-old is known for his unique style of goalkeeping, which is a much-needed trait in the tactical system of United's leader Tannhäuser. For this reason, United spared no expense in recruiting him to replace the former Dikia. Wearing the No. 24 jersey, Onana said after signing the contract: "Joining Manchester United is a great honor for me, and I have been pursuing this moment all my life! Stepping out of the Otford Stadium, guarding the gates of Manchester United and contributing to it will be another amazing journey in my career. There have been many great goalkeepers in United's history and I'm going to give it my all to write my own legend and I'm incredibly excited to be working with Tannhäuser again.
