Kilian McBarbie's contract extension talks with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have stalled, with McBarbie refusing to trigger an extension option while failing to join Real Madrid. The influence of his mother and agent is said to be behind this decision. According to Spanish media reports, McBarbie's mother went out of her way to prevent her son from transferring in order to receive a loyalty bonus of up to 120 million euros (HK$1 billion) from PSG.
Eldebate further revealed that McBarbie had a chance to move to Real Madrid this summer and Real Madrid were willing to pay a whopping €200 million transfer fee. However, the deal was ultimately blocked by McBarbie's mother, who was apparently hoping to get her hands on the huge sum of money as PSG were trying to renew McBarbie's contract with the promise of a €120 million loyalty bonus.
