On Tuesday, Premier League giants Manchester City officially announced that they have successfully brought in 29-year-old Croatian midfielder Gao Huashi from Chelsea. The transfer fee for the deal is said to be as high as £30 million (about HK$300 million). Gohuasi signed a four-year contract with City and will wear the No. 8 kit. In an interview, he could not hide his excitement: "I joined the best club in the world!"
City are reported to have paid a basic transfer fee of £25 million (about HK$250 million) for the move, with a £5 million (about HK$50 million) bonus clause attached. Commenting on the transfer, Gohuasi said, "This is a very positive change in my career. Anyone who has watched Pep Guardiola in charge knows how strong Manchester City are. I believe City is the best club in the world and it is every player's dream to join them. Under Guardiona, I believe I can continue to improve myself."
