According to the British media, Arsenal will splash out a whopping £200 million (HK$2 billion) this week to sign three top stars in De Grand Rice, Xaviers and Zulian Timba in one fell swoop, aiming to complete their major reinforcement task before the start of pre-season training in early July.
Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to bring in German international Xaviers for £65 million (about HK$650 million). The 24-year-old young talent is currently on vacation and Arsenal have arranged a fitness test for him in Spain. He is likely to be the first player to officially announce his arrival, and sources have also revealed that he has already chosen his beloved No. 29 jersey. Upon signing, Xaviers will play alongside Bukayo Shaka as the highest paid player in the squad, with a weekly salary of more than £200,000 (about HK$2 million).
In addition, Dutch media reported on Saturday (24) that Ajax center back Zulian Timba has also agreed to join Arsenal.
