Di Maria, who helped Argentina win the World Cup, will be waving goodbye to Zuyundas after one season with the club. He is said to be returning to Benfica, where he played 13 years ago, and is expected to officially sign a contract in the near future.

At the age of 35, Di Maria is not yet ready to retire, nor has he chosen to follow the many superstars who have gone to the Middle East to seek gold. Instead, he chose to return to his roots at Binfiga, where he made his debut in the Europa League in 2007. He spent three seasons there, making 124 appearances and contributing 15 goals and 28 assists before moving to Real Madrid.
