Manchester United are going all out in their bid to bring in Chelsea midfield star Mason Monty. After previous failed attempts to offer a transfer fee of £40 million (about HK$400 million), United have recently made another move, offering a fixed transfer fee of £45 million (about HK$450 million) plus a floating transfer fee of £5 million (about HK$50 million). However, the Chelsea side once again rejected the offer with a bottom-line offer of £65 million (about HK$650 million), which has put United's plan to bring in the player in a stalemate.

Mason Monty, 24, has just one year left on his contract and has made it clear that he will not renew it. United expected a transfer fee of 45-50 million pounds to convince Chelsea to let him go, but according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are not in a hurry to sell Masonmont due to the recent departures of a number of players, and have raised their asking price to 65 million pounds in an effort to get United to back down from the deal.
