An international warm-up match was played at a soccer stadium in Japan in the late afternoon of Tuesday (20) as Japan hosted Peru. Although Japan had beaten El Salvador 6-0 in the previous match, it should not be overlooked that the victory seemed to be somewhat fortuitous as a player was sent off for a foul only three minutes into the match, and Japan took the lead by virtue of their numerical advantage.

Peru's roster this time is dominated by local league players, but the overall performance is still outstanding. In their previous match, they narrowly defeated South Korea 1-0, and may not suffer a bad defeat on the road against Japan this time.

The two teams have met three times in the past, with one win each and one 0-0 handshake. Considering that Peru's last five matches have seen a total of no more than two goals, tying the median goal tally of 2.5 doesn't seem too far away in this match. (Live coverage on HKIFC on Tuesday at 5.55pm)
