Liverpool's hopes of hitting the top four were instantly dashed following Manchester United's 4-1 victory over Chelsea, with team star Mohamed Shauna then posting a statement on Twitter to speak out publicly about the Reds' poor season.
Shana was blunt in his statement: I am extremely disappointed to have failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League! There is no excuse to cover up our failure. We, Liverpool, have all the conditions to qualify for next season's UEFA Europa League, but we have failed to do so. As a Liverpool team, we failed to fulfill our minimum expectations for the UEFA Europa League, and that really makes me feel very sorry. I can't say anything to boost morale at this point in time, we've let our fans and ourselves down.
