In the Coppa Italia final to be played in the early hours of Thursday morning (25th), Fiorentina and rivals Inter Milan will go head-to-head. According to Italian media reports, Inter coach Szymon Szczecki will bring in substitute goalkeeper Hendan Lodzowicz as a tribute to the 38-year-old veteran who has played for Inter Milan for 11 years.

Handanovic has been a loyal player for Inter Milan since joining the club in 2012, starting in goal for the past 10 seasons and captaining the team for most of the time. However, after Inter brought in Onana last summer, the 27-year-old Cameroonian goalkeeper took his place in the starting lineup.

Handanovic made only 14 appearances this season, including a rare chance against Zuyondas in the first leg of the Coppa Italia quarterfinals, but was suspended for a red card and failed to play in the second leg. Fortunately, he was able to make his comeback in the final. Coach Szymonieński still has faith in him and decided to put him in the starting lineup for the final.
