Liverpool's chances of competing for a top-four place in next season's UEFA Europa League grew ever more bleak after a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at home in the Premier League on Saturday night. The game was the Reds' final home fixture of the season and the club held a farewell ceremony for outgoing players James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Alisson Becker. Roberto Firmino even scored a goal but unfortunately could not help his team win.

Naby Keita and Alisson Becker were unavailable for the game, while James Milner and Roberto Firmino came on after 72 minutes, with the latter scoring late in the game to help Liverpool push for a hard-fought draw. However, the Reds are three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with just one league game remaining, while United still have two league games to play, leaving Liverpool's hopes of progressing almost dashed.

Roberto Firmino, who has been playing for Liverpool for eight years, shed a manly tear after the match, overflowing with feelings of reluctance, but he quickly calmed down, signing photos with fans to say goodbye. Inter Milan and Real Madrid are rumored to be interested in signing the 31-year-old Brazilian striker.

James Milner, the 37-year-old who has also been with Liverpool for eight years, has said he will not rule out a return to the Reds in the future, with news that he is on the verge of joining Whiteleyton.
