Manchester United won 1-0 away to Gonemouth in the Premier League on Saturday (20), and with only two games remaining, another point would seal a top-four spot and promotion to the next Europa League. Kasimiru sealed the win with a stunning reverse-field shot, and after the game coach Tannhäuser was full of praise for him, saying his performance exceeded everyone's expectations.

The goal came in the 9th minute of the game when United midfielder Gisdian Allison played a clever cross from the middle of the field, which was miscued by Portsmouth keeper Magos Sines, and Kasimiru seized the opportunity with an inverted shot, which was as good as a shooting star.

The 31-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder has made 48 appearances this season, contributing six goals, including a stoppage-time winner against Chelsea in October last year to level the score at 1-1, and two goals against Reading in the EFL Cup fourth round to help his side win 3-1. Later, in the EFL Cup final, Kasmiru scored again and was a key contributor to the win. In this campaign, he sealed the win for United in a crucial battle for the top four in the Premier League, with goals worth their weight in gold.

After the match, Coach Tanhag said: Kasmiru's goal was excellent, he is a great player who always brings surprises. His organization, positional sense, ball control and shooting ability are outstanding, and his hustle inspires the whole team, he is a great player. Kasmiru has exceeded everyone's expectations since joining and has made a huge contribution to the team.

Manchester United currently hold a three-point lead over 5th-placed Liverpool, with only one league game remaining for their rivals. The Red Devils' next two Premier League matches are at home, against Chelsea and Fulham respectively, with a draw securing a place in the top four.
