On Saturday the 20th, the two "Red Devils" went their separate ways in the English Premier League. Although Liverpool ended their seven-match winning streak with a 1-1 draw at home to Ashton Villa thanks to Roberto Firmino's late goal at Anfield, Manchester United's victory over Fennymouth dimmed the Reds' prospects of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool were unable to guide their team from the sidelines due to the suspension of skipper Gopp. In the first half, the Reds' attack looked lackluster as defender Ibrahimaganadi was awarded a penalty for a foul in the box, but Villa's shot-stopper Onychujanes turned the ball away. However, the tide turned in the second half. Jaeger and Lance broke the deadlock when they scored from a clever inswinger. Liverpool then went on the attack and Gap scored with a quick shot amidst the chaos, but an offside goal from teammate Wahkil Yundjak nullified the goal. Roberto Firmino, who had announced his departure at the end of the season, came on late in the game and leveled the scores from Mohamed Sana's fine pass to snatch a point for his side.
