In the just-concluded English Premier League match, Crystal Palace striker Werfet Shasha regretted to leave the field due to a leg muscle strain. The 30-year-old Ivory Coast international will reportedly miss the remaining two Premier League matches of the season due to the injury. Although he was previously rumored to be interested in seeking development in other leagues, the situation has now changed and he may consider extending his contract with Crystal Palace.
Since returning to Crystal Palace from Manchester United in 2014, Werfet Shah has been a central player in the team. He has scored seven goals in 27 appearances in the Premier League this season. Given Shasha's long service at Crystal Palace, he had planned to seek a new challenge after his contract expired. However, Saudi Arabian giants Ainas had thrown him a deal with an annual salary of up to £9 million (about HK$88 million), but he declined the offer and insisted on staying in Europe's top five leagues.
According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are positive about Werfelt Sachs' contract extension and have offered him a new deal with a weekly salary of up to £200,000 (about HK$1.96 million). That's a pretty big bill for such a small to medium sized club. Werfeltshasha was also impressed by this sincerity and may choose to stay at Crystal Palace to continue playing after this season.
