Manchester United failed to land Rabiot by a whisker last year, and now rumor has it that the two sides have resumed talks, with manager Tannhäuser about to meet with Rabiot. United have no choice but to turn to the free agent market for the time being as their transfer funds are stretched and the 28 year old Rabiot is once again in their sights.
Back in the summer of last year, Manchester United had reached an agreement with Juventus to bring in Rabiot for €17 million. However, after failing to meet the seemingly unreasonable salary demands of Rabiot's mother and manager, United abandoned the deal at the last minute and signed Casimiro instead.
Time flies, Rabiot's contract with Juventus expired this summer and he resumed his free agency with the right to negotiate with other clubs and even sign a pre-contract. It was at this point that Manchester United once again extended an olive branch to Rabiot.
