In Saturday's (13th) Premier League opener, Leeds United hosted a solid Newcastle side. The match was a tight affair, with three penalties in total. LFC's striker Bamford missed a good chance, while left back Zunya Fep was shown a red card and sentenced to capital punishment for a foul. Nevertheless, the team drew 2-2 with their opponents in a grueling game, and the new head coach, Ernesto Dys, received his first point in his coaching career, and the hope of relegation is not completely dashed.

Leeds United is currently at the bottom of the league, with relegation in jeopardy. In this match, the team utilized the advantage of home field and launched an onslaught in the beginning. In the 7th minute, Lodigo's header was parried by Nick Purby. After that, Ainen stole the ball and fired a low shot to score the first goal of the match for Leeds United. The team then took advantage of the situation and in the 28th minute, Zuniafip broke into the penalty area and was tackled by Zulianton, the referee awarded a penalty kick. The referee awarded the penalty kick, but Bamford's effort was saved by Nick Purby. Although Zuniafip failed to increase the score, he slipped in the course of defense, causing teammate Huba Baking to knock down opponent Alexandra Ishak, and the referee awarded another penalty kick, which was converted by Colin Wilson to equalize the score.
