It is reported that Manchester United's big move in this summer's transfer market seems to have locked its target. Strong news from the Italian media has come that United has paid a deposit of up to 3 million euros (about 25.7 million Hong Kong dollars) to the Napoli team with the intention of signing South Korean center back Kim Min Ja.
Manchester United and Napoli have reached a preliminary agreement on the transfer of Minjae Kim, with the €3 million upfront only part of an additional deposit, according to All Markets Italia. The complete transfer fee is up to 50 million euros (about 429 million Hong Kong dollars). Napoli are expected to sell captain Harry Magouni once Minjae Kim successfully joins United.
Minjae Kim, 26, has soared in value in recent years, starting out in the South Korean Pro League, making his debut abroad to join Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League, and then moving to Fehrenbach in Turkey in 2021 for a transfer fee of just €3 million. Last summer, Napoli signed him for a transfer fee of €18 million. If he joins Manchester United this summer, his transfer fee will climb to 53 million euros, becoming the second South Korean foreigner to join Manchester United after Park Ji-sung.
