Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris has been hibernating on the bench since that heartbreaking 1-6 defeat, and according to the British media, the 36-year-old captain has received a superb offer from the giants' club in Saudi Arabia, with an annual salary that has flipped to a staggering 300,000 pounds (HK$2.95 million), a temptation that will perhaps make him opt out of the familiar Premier League scene.

According to the Times, Lloris' deal is set to expire next summer and the Saudi club's new offer is three times his current £100,000-a-week salary at Spurs. Meanwhile, Tottenham have begun the search for Lloris' successor, with Lloris' vacancy being filled by Fraser Kossuth for the time being.

During the Tottenham Hotspur-Newcastle match, Lloris retired at halftime with an injury, and rumors circulated after the game that he was unhappy with the performance of his teammates and refused to play again. Since that game, Lloris has not played in goal for Spurs.

The goalkeeper, who has been with Tottenham for 11 seasons, is yet to make a decision in the face of an offer from the Saudi club. He intends to wait for Tottenham to confirm a new manager before discussing his future with chairman Livi.
