As the curtain fell on the regular season of the Championship on Monday night (8), a team known as the "Black Cats", Newland, defeated Preston 3-0 on the road to move up to the 6th place in the table and win the precious promotion playoffs. The team, which was just promoted to the Championship this season, is now expected to make a push for the Premier League, and Manchester United loanee Amit Diarou was instrumental in the victory, and his outstanding performance has made Red Devils fans look forward to seeing Tannhäuser bring him back to the team next season.

Facing the pressure of a must-win situation, the whole Newlands team was in high spirits. In the 54th minute, Amit Diarlo opened the scoring, followed by a goal each from Aleksandr Pritchard and Jaquel Kichler to sweep Preston off their feet and seal the 3-0 win.

Originally in 6th place, Miho lost 3-4 at home to Bridgend Rovers, which allowed the Black Cats, who won the match, to overtake the 6th place and will face Luton in the semi-final of the promotion play-offs, while the other semi-final will be between Middlesbrough and Govanelli, with the winners earning a place in next season's Premier League.

Newland had been in the Premier League for many years before gradually sinking four times since 2017 and dropping to League One after relegation. Last summer, they returned to the Championship and made a remarkable push for promotion to the Premier League in just one season. "The Black Cats have exceeded all expectations this season, with Amit Diarou contributing significantly, scoring 13 goals, making him the team's top scorer, and adding four assists.

Amit Diarou made his debut during his time at Atalanta, attracting Manchester United to sign him in January 2021. However, he wasn't given much of a chance after joining United, making just nine appearances, with his only goal coming in the 2021 UEFA Cup Round of 16 against AC Milan. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers, making 13 appearances and scoring three goals.

This season, Amit Diarou has shown great potential after firmly occupying a starting position after being loaned to Newlands. Given the poor performances of United's two existing wingers, Chaton Sinzu and Anthony Mafios, manager Tannhäuser should perhaps bring back Amit Diarou next season to address the side attack.
