Manchester United's transfer dealings have entered a white-hot stage, with Qatari consortium leader Sheikh Al Thani reportedly leading the race for the time being, with a bid of up to £5 billion (about HK$49.3 billion). If the takeover goes through, the transfer market will undoubtedly go berserk, and even French shot-stopper Kylian McBarbie could be the newest addition to United.
According to the Daily Mail, Cheick Al Thani plans to invest heavily in the soccer market, with the purchase of Manchester United as his primary target, before going after top stars, with McBarbie being one of them. The French striker has the right to unilaterally terminate his contract in 2024 despite having two years left on his deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). It is widely predicted that he will leave after the Paris Olympics and his next destination is yet to be known.
It has been previously reported that Sheikh Al Thani plans to bring another PSG star, Neymar, to Manchester United and now he intends to acquire McBarbie, the superb PSG striking duo who are expected to reunite at the Otford. In addition, the Qatari consortium has a number of other acquisition targets, including Bayern's KINGSLEY GOVEN and Real Madrid's KAMAYUNGA, aiming to make United a top team.
