Recently, Chelsea FC surprisingly appointed Lambert, who has had a poor managerial career, as interim manager, a decision that has sparked widespread speculation and discussion. However, after a one-goal defeat to Wolves in their first match, captain Espagoda questioned Lambert's coaching ability and made it clear that he is looking forward to his Spanish compatriot Anriki taking charge of the team next season.

Espagoda is looking forward to working with Anriki mainly because he knows the tactical fit: Anriki's tactical guidance allowed me to perform the best during my time with the Spanish national team. He had clear instructions and I really enjoyed his tactical layout. Although Spain did not perform well in the World Cup the previous year, under Anriki's leadership we were a strong team with more room for improvement. We will have to wait and see if he will be the new Chelsea manager.

Espagoda, 33, has been sidelined with an injury since the Premier League match against Southampton in mid-February and is not expected to be available for the UEFA Cup last-eight first leg away to Real Madrid in the early hours of Thursday (13).
