Crystal Palace have been mired in relegation in recent days, but managed to bounce back with a 5-1 thrashing of Leeds United in a crucial away game in the early hours of Monday morning (10th). New leader Hessein has earned his team six points from two games since taking over, a result that even surpasses the five points from 12 games achieved by former leader Vela in 2023. Crystal Palace's attack has been on fire recently, scoring seven goals in two consecutive matches, a figure equal to the team's total goal tally in their previous 15 league matches, which is a clear indication of Heschen's coaching ability.

Crystal Palace conceded the first goal of the game just 21 minutes in, but Leeds United's Bamford was unable to maintain the advantage until the end of the half. Just before half time, Mark Gushie equalized for Crystal Palace. In the second half, Crystal Palace came out in full force, with Ibirgiyis, Oshinni Edouardi and Jordan Aho (who scored twice) scoring to seal a 5-1 win. Youngster Michael Ollis was a key contributor to the win with three assists in the match.

With the win, Crystal Palace can breathe a sigh of relief for the time being as they opened a six-point gap with the relegation zone. However, the experienced Hessein said, "I don't know magic, the situation now seems perfect, even the weather is extra pleasant. But I know that more challenges await me in the future and I will face different problems then. So for now I am going to enjoy this wonderful moment."
