The latest news from the New Zealand media said that on March 25, the interim acting coach of the New Zealand soccer team, Beazley, announced that the team's main striker, Chris Wood, would miss the second round of friendly matches against China due to injury.

As it turns out, Wood was unlucky to suffer a thigh injury during pre-match training in Auckland on Thursday and was unable to take part in the first warm-up match. Beazley revealed that Wood has returned to Nottingham Forest FC in England for further treatment.

"During our stay in Auckland, we explored Chris' injury in detail and decided to return him home to recuperate. We are well aware that he is eager to play, but we had to err on the side of caution out of concern for his health. Despite his heart for the team and desire to contribute, rest is what is best for him at this moment."
