As the end of the month approaches, the Italian national soccer team will face England away in Europe. With a crucial matchup on the horizon, manager Vincenzo is facing an unprecedented challenge: finding the right striker. To do so, he plans to bring back Ensign, who played in the USL, and his Toronto FC teammate Benedetti, in order to counter the English.
Vincenzo admitted that the match was the first home game for the Italian national team since the tragic illness and death of his dear friend Vieri. He is confident that Italy will be stronger as a result, however, the plight of the team's forward line is causing him headaches. He said, "The immediate dilemma is quite tricky, with Nmobini, Raspaudini and Scamacca all out with injuries, and other players such as Bilodi only an option at their clubs, with the exception of Liceu United's Ginotto, who has more experience in the game."
It is worth mentioning that the departure of "Little Prince" Nicolous Siniolu to Galatasaray of the Turkish Super League was also the result of a proposal by Vincennes, whose central objective was to ensure that the player would be given ample opportunities to play.
Vincennes concluded, "In such an emergency situation, what's wrong with recalling Ensign and Benedetti? After all, Ensign can still play a key role, so let's wait and see." The 31-year-old has played 54 matches for Italy since 2012, scoring 10 goals.
