Moroccan star Ashouraf, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), was recently subjected to a rape allegation. Although the victim did not press charges after calling the police, the French police decided to conduct an independent investigation in view of the seriousness of the case. Surprisingly, Ashouraf reacted calmly to the incident and attended the FIFA awards ceremony on Tuesday (28) as planned, and successfully won the award.
The victimized woman reported to the police on Sunday (26) that she was raped by Ashouraf on Saturday (25), according to the French newspaper Le Parisien. The two met on social media at the end of January this year, and Ashouraf took advantage of his wife and son's trip to Dubai to invite the woman to his residence in Boulogne. The woman revealed that upon arrival she was forcibly kissed and had sex with Ashouraf. Afterward, the woman kicked Ashraf and fled the scene, informing her friends for help.
The woman reported the incident to the police, stating that her initial intention was only to expose the incident and that she had no intention of pursuing legal action. However, the French police have decided to continue their investigation in view of the seriousness of the case, and no charges have yet been brought against Ashourav, while PSG and Ashourav himself have remained silent on the matter. Nonetheless, Ashraf collected his 11th man of the year award at the FIFA awards as expected.
