Argentinian coach Steve Scaloni has had a double whammy, not only being named FIFA Coach of the Year, but also renewing his contract with the Argentinian Football Association until 2026. This means that the 44-year-old young coach will lead the team to the next World Cup, trying to defend the title successfully.

Since officially taking charge of the Argentine coaching whip at the end of 2018, Scalani has led the team to achieve brilliant results, firstly assisting Argentina to win the Copa América in 2021, ending a 28-year title drought, and last year leading the team to win the World Cup, ranking among the world's top coaches, and thus attracting the favor of many luxury clubs.

After two months of negotiations, the Argentine Football Association finally reached an agreement with Scalanne to extend his contract on the eve of the FIFA awards ceremony. FA President Taibbi said, "We have full trust and good communication with Scalani, who will continue to lead the national team forward."

With the official renewal of Scalani's contract, all uncertainty has been removed, helping to stabilize the military and laying a solid foundation for Argentina's appearances at the 2024 Copa America and 2026 World Cups.
