Manchester United's 18-year-old Argentine starlet Canazo is on the verge of a major career turnaround. The club have reportedly agreed a contract extension with him, with a new deal locked in place until 2028 and a salary that has soared from £7,000 a week to £50,000 a week. Although details such as likeness rights are yet to be finalized, the move has become Tanhag's first contract extension move since taking charge of United.
Born in Madrid, Spain, Canazo initially trained at Atletico Madrid's youth camp before moving to the Manchester United youth system. Last season, he led United to a remarkable Youth FA Cup win, the club's first in 11 years. Towards the end of the season, he was favored by former coach Lanlick and was able to be promoted to the first team. This season, under the guidance of Tannhäuser, he was given more chances to showcase himself. Despite spending most of his time as a substitute, he has delivered impressive figures of 3 goals and 5 assists. He was disciplined for being late for a meeting during pre-season training, but has matured a lot since then.
Given that Ganazou's contract with United is set to expire next year, it has recently been rumored that Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Zouki have all shown strong interest in him. In order to prevent the starlet from being poached, United have decided to prioritize the renewal of his contract to secure Ganassou's future.
