Known as the dominant force in Ligue 1
Paris Saint Germain
(PSG) has always been a giant in the transfer market, bringing in stars such as Nima and Kilian McBarbie at high prices and earning widespread recognition from fans. However, with the addition of coach Gadhia and director Gambos, the club seems determined to shift its strategy and give more young players the chance to showcase themselves. Five rising stars such as Shalie Amelie, whose popularity has soared recently, are expected to make their mark in Paris.
Sixteen-year-old Shari Emeli has risen quickly this season, scoring twice in his last four games. And 17-year-old center midfielder Bishop Yabo is also getting frequent starts. In addition, striker Husni, 17, and Spanish midfielder Galbi, 18, have made their first appearances for the first team this season. Together with Kilian McBarbee's 16-year-old brother Idan McBarbee, who is in the spotlight, they are seen as the golden generation of PSG's youth ranks.
Director Gambos revealed, "We will give more time to the young players and Gadea understands that this is the club's plan. We need to make room for young players to prevent them from being poached by other European giants." PSG's youth training has always bred talent such as Rabiot, Kynsley Govan, Nyanku and Mushadayabi but they all opted for transfers in search of more playing opportunities.
Coach Gadhia said he doesn't mind entrusting young players like Shalee Amery with the task: "The team needs competition, and if a 16-and-a-half year old proves that he deserves to be on the field more than anyone else, then he's definitely going to get that chance!"
