The mainstay of English Premier League giants Manchester United's defense, Ricardo Martinez, has been a revelation this season, earning the nickname "The Butcher" for his ferocious style of play. However, the player is not above provocative behavior on the field, and a suspected malicious gesture during Thursday's (9) match against Leeds United sparked the ire of fans.
Shortly into the second half of the match, Bamford and Lysander Martinez collided in a scuffle and got tangled up. As Lisinidou Martinez was getting up, he seemed to "logically" stomp on Bamford's face with the sole of his shoe, a chilling move that was promptly investigated by the VAR, which ultimately failed to confirm that Lisinidou Martinez had intended to do so, and allowed him to avoid being penalized.
Nonetheless, a just verdict does not seem to have come, many netizens have voiced their condemnation: "His footwork is so unnatural, it's unbelievable that there's no red card", "'Butcher' name really lives up to its name!
