In the shadow of the Qatar World Cup, Belgium national team leader Martinez left the club in disgrace, while assistant coach Henri was once envisioned to take over the reigns. However, Henri's dreams were dashed when the Belgian FA announced that 37-year-old Italian star Tedesco would take charge, and the French star announced his resignation as assistant coach.
Tedesco, the Italian skipper joins the club and bodes well for the future of the Belgian national team. He is reported to have signed until after the final week of the 2024 UEFA Europa League. Although FA chief executive Pauschat had explored the possibility of Henry becoming the leader of the team, the final choice was Tedisco.
Although Tadisco has yet to announce the line-up of its coaching team, reports in the French media have revealed Henry's departure from the Belgian national team. Rumors suggested that he could follow former leader Martinez to the Portuguese national team, however, after the World Cup in Qatar, Henri is still sticking to his TV commentary duties and has yet to make a clear decision on his future destination.
