In Saturday's (4) early Premier League match, top-ranked Arsenal went away to challenge the newly-managed Ewarton team. The tactical adjustments made by the new manager Dyche paid off, and Arsenal managed to pick up 3 valuable points with a 1-0 win thanks to Dagorski's second-half header. Although Arsenal lost twice in a row in the league, they are still five points ahead in the table.
Arsenal, who were previously out of the EFL Cup, tweaked their lineup for this game, with newly renewed Gabil Martinelli forming a strong attacking line with Nikitia and Bukayo Saka, while new signings Zorzhanu, Jekyll Koh, and Leandro Dussart were on the bench for the time being. The Ewarton side lost Anthony Gorton but were still able to stick with their original lineup and under new manager Dyche, they battled Arsenal at home.
Arsenal adopted a more physical pressing style of play in the game, aggressively pressing and destroying up front, but Ewarton were not passive and kept up a strong attack. Despite Arsenal's good performance in the attacking end, they failed to convert their chances into goals, with Kavitryun and Dugoli missing many good opportunities. Arsenal relied on counter-attacks to create chances. In the first half, Nikitia had a shot that hit the post, but failed to score.
In the second half, EWT continued their attack and Arsenal had a great chance in the 57th minute, but Martyn Odigat missed the chance in front of goal. Arsenal then made substitutions for Zojinu and Liandu Dusat to bolster the attack, while EWT took advantage of a corner kick with a header from Dagowski to secure their first win of the year, 1-0.
