Despite his defeat in the Spanish Super Cup, Bensma's Real Madrid contract renewal has been full of twists and turns. The French shot-stopper has reportedly been at a standstill in his contract negotiations with the Galacticos, while at the same time, Saudi Arabian club Ainas have offered him a tempting contract with a high salary, which has left Benschmar facing a possible move to Saudi Arabia to form a new partnership with his former teammate, Cron.

Edu Aguirre, Real Madrid's exclusive correspondent, revealed that "Binschmar's future is not yet clear, having rejected Real Madrid's offer to extend his contract. Combining multiple sources and my observations, Binschmar is likely to seek a change of scenery, just as Cron in 2018, whose contract expired after winning the UEFA Champions League and eventually left as a free agent."

Ahead of the La Liga Premier League match, the Ballon d'Or winner appeared hesitant about his future, "I'm only focused on the moment and I'm not sure how long I'll be at Real Madrid." Rumors that Real Madrid intend to extend the veteran's contract for only one year and drastically reduce his annual salary have led to the fact that Binzema has yet to sign any contract extension.

Meanwhile, Binschmar has received a lucrative deal from Ainas to reunite with Cron if he chooses to move to Saudi Arabia and, at 35 years of age and having already achieved his dream of winning the Ballon d'Or despite missing out on the World Cup, choosing to go for gold in Saudi Arabia towards the end of his career seems to be a wise decision.
