Manchester United have officially unveiled that they have brought in towering striker Weghese on a short-term loan deal for half a season. However, due to time constraints, the 1m97-tall member of the Dutch national soccer team was unable to complete his registration in time and therefore missed this Saturday night's (14th) Premier League derby match between Manchester United and Manchester City.

The 30-year-old Wegeghese was originally scheduled to be loaned out by Championship side Blackburn to Turkish powerhouse Beşidas for one season, and in order to prompt Beşidas to release him early, United paid the other side £2.5 million in compensation, successfully bringing the "aerialist" under their wing.

Speaking after signing the contract, Weghese said, "It's a fantastic feeling that I've played against Manchester United before and now I get to wear this red kit. I know the team has made significant progress in recent months under Tannhäuser and I assure you that I will do my best for the team in the coming months and am very much looking forward to catching up with my teammates."

In 18 games for Bisidas this season, Weghebers has contributed nine goals. His masterpiece was not his substitute appearance after the last eight of this World Cup, when he scored twice to help the Netherlands draw 2-2 with Argentina. Although the Dutch lost on penalties, Wegeghese became a star and attracted the attention of Manchester United, who sent him on loan to fill the void left by the departure of Crowe.
