On Friday (13), FIFA unveiled the candidates for the 2022 World Footballer of the Year (WFM), with a total of 14 players selected, including Kylian Mbappe, Aidan Harland, Kiyun Dibny, Robert Ljwendowski, and Benschmar. Nevertheless, fans around the world are generally optimistic that Argentina's "King of Balls" Mez will be crowned the winner, and the title is almost a foregone conclusion.
The FIFA awards ceremony will be staged on the 27th of next month, when the candidates for all the awards will be officially revealed. Among them, there are 14 candidates for the most coveted award, the Best Player (Mr. World Footballer). It is worth noting that the selection not only takes into account the performance of the players in the 2021/22 season, but also incorporates their performance at the World Cup in Qatar. Obviously, the World Cup was particularly influential, and even Manchester City's reserve striker Zulian Ivaris was honored to be included.
Paris Saint-Germain dominated the 14-man list, with four players on the list, making them the biggest winners. Premier League allies Manchester City and UEFA champions Real Madrid, meanwhile, have three players each on the list. Nonetheless, the winner of the World Footballer of the Year seems to be on the verge of being crowned, with Argentina's World Cup winner, Misi, excelling at both the national team and club level, and the other 13 candidates appearing to be mere sideshows.
