Manchester City beat Chelsea 4-0 at home in a crucial FA Cup 3rd Round clash at dawn on Monday (9), with wing Males scoring twice to become the first player to break down Chelsea in three matches in a season in nearly a decade, following a brace in an English Premier League match. City will have the chance to meet Arsenal in the Premier League table-topping clash after advancing to the 4th round.
Last Friday (6), the two teams met in the English Premier League (EPL), with Manchester City winning 1-0 on the road thanks to a goal from Malles. Despite the fact that they were without goalscorer Aynin Chalant, midfielder Chiyun Dibny and debutant goalkeeper Aidachen Molas, City still had the upper hand and scored in the 23rd minute of the match with a penalty kick by Malles.
Just seven minutes later, Chelsea striker Xaviers was fouled while defending a corner kick and was awarded a penalty kick, which Zulian Ivaris took. City struck while the iron was hot and quickly added another goal from Phil Cotton to take a three-goal lead at half-time.
Towards the end of the match, Chelsea center-half Ghorebani scored his second goal of the season after an infringement on Phil Cotton in the penalty area led to another penalty kick, which was taken by Malles. The 31-year-old Algerian international has scored against Chelsea in the EFL Cup, Premier League and EFL Cup this season, becoming the first player to score against Chelsea in three matches in a season since Manchester United striker Chavia Boots Nandis in the 2012/13 season.
Meanwhile, Malles, who has created 200 goals, including 119 goals and 81 assists, during his time with both Leicester City and Manchester City in the Premier League, has also been voted City's Player of the Month in a dazzling display.
The draw for the 4th round of the EFL Cup has been completed and Manchester City will face the winner of Oxford United and Arsenal. As Oxford United is only a Division 1 team, Arsenal has a high possibility to win and advance in the early hours of Tuesday (10th), when both teams are expected to play the final in advance. United, on the other hand, will face Championship side Reading.
