Portuguese soccer superstar C Ronaldo's Saudi Arabian debut has been met with a surprise after joining Ainas. The Ainas were informed ahead of Thursday's (5) match against Altai that the FA's two-match suspension for breaking a young Ewarton fan's cell phone last season, a sanction that will be enforced in Saudi Arabia, has resulted in a half-month wait for C Ronaldo to make his debut for the Ainas.
C Ronaldo accidentally smashed a young fan's cell phone on his way back to the dressing room after a 0-1 loss for United at Ewarton last April, and was suspended for two matches by the English FA during the World Cup in November. Although he was no longer a United player at the time, the suspension was to be served in Saudi Arabia under FIFA regulations, even though the Premier League and Saudi Arabia are different leagues.
The Ainas' Thursday home showdown with Altea is the first game of Cronardo's suspension, while his away game against Al Shaabi on the 15th will be the second. That means Cranado's Ainas debut won't be until Jan. 21 at home against Ittifaq at the earliest.
