Binner, who was brilliant at top clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, was recently granted a one-year bankruptcy order by a Birmingham court after being saddled with debts of more than a million pounds. With a huge array of debtors, including the Inland Revenue, several banks, government agencies and numerous private companies, Binner, 39, who was hailed as a gifted player in his early years and was once the most expensive rising star in the history of the Premier League, is now in such a predicament.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Binner had been heavily indebted for excessive spending, racking up debts in the seven-figure range. His debts with the IRS and banks were particularly serious, and he had mortgaged the property, which was expected to be seized by the court. Reports indicate that Binner has made jokes about mismanagement of funds, forgetting that he had purchased a Porsche sports car in 2011 and leaving the keys at a Spanish train station for five months, as well as attempting to run a media company, which quickly ended in failure.

Binner, who rose to fame at the age of 15, was the most expensive starlet in Premier League history when Arsenal signed him from Northshire for £2 million. Since then, he has also played for clubs such as Birmingham, Liverpool and Zaragoza before announcing his retirement in 2019. After his retirement, he took part in a reality show in the UK and who would have guessed that his life trajectory would take a sharp turn into bankruptcy.
