City's title bid suffered another setback on Saturday when they met their Waterloo in the Premier League, drawing 1-1 at home to Ewarton.

Top scorer Ainin Chalant was in hot form, scoring his 21st league goal of the season, however, a reckless shove in the first half saw him come close to a red card, fortunately the referee only showed a yellow card, preventing him from being ejected from the game.

Facing the tightly defended Ewarton, City controlled the pace of the game, but the efficiency of the attacking end was not high. In the 24th minute, Males sent a precise cross, and Ainincharant grabbed a header to break the goal, which was the only effective shot on goal in the first half of the game for City. Ayninzhalant became more and more agitated as he was tackled by his opponents on several occasions during the game, and a fierce shoveling in the 44th minute, although it was rewarded with a yellow card, was enough to show his fighting spirit.

The match resumed with City still dominating the field, but a counterattack by Ewarton saw Di Maregre blast a world class goal from the corner of the penalty area to equalize the score. City then mounted a frantic comeback, but Bickford's excellent play prevented City from breaking through, and the two teams eventually shook hands to make a draw. Former Premier League testimonial Wootton commented: Aynin Chalant was lucky to avoid a red card, his shovel was full of fury, fast and furious, he was a lucky man.
