Croatia narrowly beat Morocco 2-1 in the World Cup third-place playoff, with Misnavkosi contributing a brilliant goal. The 29-year-old wing forward had experienced a low point in the Chinese Super League, but in the late stage of the great talent, this tournament alone made three goals, performance like a dark horse, become the biggest bright spot in the Croatian team.
Looking back at Misnavkosi's career, he traveled to South Korea to join Jeonnam Dragons in 2015 before moving to the Chinese Super League a year later to join Changchun Yatai. However, he made just 14 appearances for Yatai, including six starts, contributing two goals and one assist, only to be dropped due to poor form before returning to South Korea to join Ulsan Hyundai.
Misnavkosi's career began to take a turn for the better in July 2018 when he returned to Croatia and joined Dinamo Zagreb. He has had a number of successes in Europe, such as the March 2021 UEFA Cup Round of 16 second leg, where he was capped to help his side sweep past Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 and advance with a 3-2 aggregate score in the two-legged tie.
In the first group stage of this year's Champions League, Misnavkosi sealed the win with a long-range strike to help Dinamo Zagreb to a 1-0 victory over Chelsea, which even led to the sacking of then-manager Duco.
Misnavkosi also played a key role in the World Cup, especially in the last 8 against Brazil, where he assisted Bono Bergovic to equalize the score in extra time, giving Croatia a chance to advance to the penalty shootout. In the third-place match, he scored the winning goal, as much as veteran Modić.
