France have reached the World Cup final twice and while the spotlight has been cast on attacking greats such as Kylian Mbappe, Chiote and Kishavin, goalkeeper Lloris has also played an integral role. The 35-year-old captain made his eighth shutout of his World Cup career, trailing only France's legendary goalkeeper Bavus and England's Schloughton.
Lloris has made 19 appearances in the World Cup, tying him with German goalkeeper Neua for the joint record for most appearances by a goalkeeper. In other words, Lloris is expected to set that record in the upcoming final.
In the quarter-final match against Morocco, Lloris was outstanding, allowing his opponents to face the open goal many times and only be able to look at the ball. This is his personal 8th shutout in the World Cup, second only to Bavs and Schluden, 2 times less. If he wants to surpass these two legendary goalkeepers, Loris will need to participate in at least one more World Cup, however, at the age of 35, he is afraid that it is still unknown whether he will be able to participate in the next session.
