As the rainbow talk at the World Cup in Qatar continues, a Belgian spokesperson revealed on Monday (21) that FIFA has banned teams from wearing a second away kit with the word "Love" and other equality symbols during matches. However, the reason behind the ban was surprisingly related to the commercial promotion of the festival.

Belgium's second away kit was newly designed in September this year, inspired by the fireworks display at the famous Tomorrowland electronic music festival, which aims to convey the concept of diversity, equality and inclusion. A Belgian spokesman revealed that FIFA's rejection was not a message of support for a minority group, but because the festival's logo was cleverly embedded in the "o" of the word "Love".

It is reported that FIFA will allow Belgium to wear the away shirt in the World Cup as long as the word "Love" is covered up. However, a Belgian spokesman said the team will wear the red home jersey for the first three group matches. Belgium, who will debut in Group F in the early hours of Thursday morning (24), will face a fierce battle against North and Central American rivals Canada.
