In the U.S. lineup for this World Cup, there is a special face - 22-year-old Timofey Weah, whose father is the current Liberian President Weah. The former "old Weah" in his playing days had won the Golden Ball Award and Mr. World Football, but never stepped into the World Cup final week stage. Now, "Weah Jr." is expected to realize his father's unfulfilled soccer dream.

The "Old Weah" was a legendary goal scorer in the 1990s, playing for top giants such as Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Marseille, Chelsea, Manchester City, etc. He reached the pinnacle of his career in 1995, when he was honored with the Ballon d'Or award and the title of World Footballer of the Year. However, despite being one of the biggest soccer stars of his generation, he has never represented the Liberian national team at the international level and has never been associated with the World Cup.

Born in the United States, Timofevea followed in his father's footsteps and traveled to France to pursue soccer, becoming a member of the Paris Saint-Germain youth camp. Today, he plays for Lille in Ligue 1. Nevertheless, "Weah Jr." chose to represent the United States rather than follow in his father's footsteps as a member of the national team, and in May 2018, he scored for the U.S. team in a warm-up match, becoming the fourth-youngest goal scorer in U.S. soccer history, inheriting his father's goal-scoring prowess.

With the United States failing to qualify for the last World Cup, Timofeevia has waited four full years for the stage of this international competition. He is expected to be a shining star in this World Cup.
