Even though the Chinese team is not on the stage of this World Cup, the soccer field is still active with Chinese soccer people. FIFA announced on Saturday (19) that Chinese referee Ma Ning will be the fourth referee for the group match between the United States and Wales.
A total of three Chinese referees have been selected for the refereeing lineup for this year's World Cup in Qatar, namely referee Ma Ning and assistant referees Cao Yi and Shi Xiang. FIFA announced the list of referees for the USA v Wales match in the early hours of Tuesday (22) Hong Kong time, with Maning confirmed in advance as the fourth referee, who will assist the team of match referees and assistant referees from Qatar.
Ma Ning, 43, is regarded as the best referee in the Chinese Super League and has refereed many international matches such as the World Junior Championships. The participation of Ma Ning in the "Battle of U.S.-Westphalia" is a historic moment for the Chinese referee to officiate in the final week of the World Cup after a lapse of 20 years since the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
