Nottingham Forest returned to the top of the Premier League after taking all three points in Sunday's 5-0 sweep of bottom-placed Nottingham Forest thanks to a brace from substitute Rhys Nelson. However, the win was not flawless as Bukayo Shaka suffered an injury in the first half and had to leave the game early, which had an impact on the team's tactical layout.
There were few changes to the Arsenal line-up for the game, with Gabriel Jesse leading the way alongside Bukayo Shaka and Gabriel Martinelli, with Martin Ortigart and Gresham commanding the midfield, and Kenyo Tomoyasu and Binwet holding down the fort at the back, while Lansdal made his 50th Premier League appearance.
As expected, Arsenal controlled the tempo of the game with ease and scored in the opening five minutes when the Shaka Kid broke the deadlock for the Arsenal with a left-footed shot from the right and Gabriel Martinelli grabbed the spot-kick opportunity with a header. After Martinelli's goal, he donned a Berbero Mani jersey to cheer on the Arsenal loanee who was injured in Milan, Italy. However, the assisting Bukayo Shaka was then injured and was replaced by Reiss Nelson in the 23rd minute as Arsenal went into the break with a 1-0 scoreline.
In the second half, Arsenal launched another blitzkrieg as Reiss Nelson scored twice in three minutes, firstly in the 49th minute when he took a pass from Gabriel Jesse in the penalty area and deftly rounded a Nottingham Forest player to fire a shot at goal, which, despite being blocked by the keeper, he then re-adjusted his angle again to send the ball into an empty net. Nelson followed that up with another breakaway in the 52nd minute.
Three goals up, Arsenal pushed forward and Thomas Pedri's long range shot extended the lead again in the 55th minute to help his side go 4-0 up. Nottingham Forest had nothing to show for it and Martin Ortigaert made it 5-0 in the 78th minute to complete the sweep.
