In a new report by The Times, Iranian superstar Ali Dey, who has shone in world soccer, was arrested by police last Tuesday night (25) after being involved in a wave of protests in his country.

It has been reported that the protests in Iran are still in full swing and that Ali Dey has been arrested for speaking out publicly in support of the protesters. About two weeks ago, his passport was confiscated by authorities and he was banned from leaving the country. Today, the 53-year-old soccer star is being housed in a government guest house that is closely monitored by security forces.

Looking back at Ali Daei's illustrious career, he has played as one of Asian soccer's top stars for top clubs such as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Haha Berlin. He also set a world record for goals scored by a national team, racking up 109 goals, a record that was only broken by Portuguese star Cron Ronaldo last year.
