Manchester City striker Aynin Chalainte suffered a nightmare night as he faced his old club Dormont in the UEFA Europa League Group G fixture in the early hours of Wednesday morning (26th). During the away match, he suffered a violent collision from his former teammate, resulting in a foot injury, a bloody arm and a low-grade fever. He was replaced at the end of the first half. In the end, the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw, with Dormont advancing to the Round of 16 with Manchester City with this point.

Despite the fact that City had already clinched a place in the last 16 before the match, leader Diego Corteño gave a debut to Xalanta. In the last meeting between the two sides, Charlantes scored with a brilliant shot, but this time in Germany, he looked out of sorts. In the first half, he had only 13 touches and one shot on goal in 45 minutes, and missed the target. He was replaced by Bernardo Schwarz after the half-time break.

After the match, Gordiona explained the reasons for replacing Xalante: "There were three main points, firstly, Xalante showed fatigue, secondly, he had some low-grade fever, and thirdly, he suffered a foot injury and couldn't hold on for the second half of the match. At the time I was not sure about the extent of his injury and the army doctor expressed concern and did not recommend him to continue playing. However, he is walking without any major problems and further tests are needed to determine the treatment plan." City will be away to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday night (29th) and it is still unknown whether Xalanthe will be able to play.

City were expected to win the game, but Males' second-half penalty was parried away by goalkeeper Kiko Kobo, and the wing forward has now missed two consecutive UEFA Europa League penalties, while City once again ended the game in a 0-0 draw.

It is worth mentioning that since Gordiona coached Manchester City, the team has won a total of 80 penalties, but missed 25 times, which has become the "biggest weakness" in the coaching career of the manager.

In the other match in the same group, Siville beat Copenhagen 3-0 at home thanks to a goal each from Annesley, Eskau and Mundial, but had to settle for third place in the group to advance to the Europa League.
