Real Madrid's dreams have been shattered by Kylian McBarbie's "climactic" contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. According to a new report in Le Parisien, if McBarbie, the French star, fulfills his three-year contract in full, he will easily earn a whopping 630 million euros, thus setting a record for the most expensive athlete contract in sports history.

McBarbie's PSG deal expires in 2025, and he already earns a staggering €72 million a year. However, the "climax" isn't over yet, as PSG will have to pay a signing bonus totaling €180 million over three years. In addition, the contract also contains a "ladder" loyalty bonus clause, if McBarbee completed the first year of the contract, will receive 70 million euros in bonuses; the second year, another 80 million euros; if the full three years, but also will receive an additional 90 million euros! In addition to the generous bonus, rumor has it that there is also an automatic extension of 2 years, but the right to start is entirely in the hands of the McBarbee.

Looking back to 2017, Lionel Messi's contract extension with Barcelona followed a similar model, with a huge signing bonus alongside a loyalty bonus. However, Messi's contract is worth only 550 million euros, McBarbee's contract extension to break this record in one fell swoop.
