Arsenal stalwart William Shaliba, who had gone away to a foreign land for training, has made a strong return to his parent team this season after ending a three-year-long loan spell, solidifying his starting position with exceptional play and attracting the attention of many giants. The Sun reported that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is interested in acquiring the 21-year-old French starlet for a high price as the successor of Sergio Ramos.

In the summer of 2019, Arsenal acquired William Shaliba from St. Ignatius and allowed him to continue playing for St. Ignatius on loan. Subsequently, the Arsenal loaned the French international to two Ligue 1 teams, including Nice and Marseille, in order to enrich his game experience. After sharpening his skills, William Shaliba has returned to Arsenal and has become a mainstay of the team this season, playing 11 games and contributing 2 goals.

However, William Shaliba has just two years left on his deal after his loan spell, which has led PSG to see an opportunity to try and recruit him. It is reported that Arsenal management is not willing to sell William Shaliba but wants to extend his contract.

In fact, Arsenal are working to extend the contracts of two of the team's young attacking players, Bukayo Shaka and Gabier Martinelli, and are expected to offer a lucrative contract to William Shaliba as well, in an attempt to develop the trio into the team's newest force.
