In January, Gabonese-born striker Aubameyang's career with Premier League giants Arsenal came to an end, followed by a half-season at Barcelona, before he opted to return to the Premier League this summer and join Chelsea. However, Aubameyang still seems to have a soft spot for his old boss. Recently, a video surfaced on the internet in which Aubameyang accused the Adidas team leader of "not knowing how to handle big-name players", to which the Chelsea striker publicly responded, saying that he was emotionally drained at the time and that his words were too harsh.
The video was filmed during the summer holidays when Aubameyang was talking to jewelers at a hotel in Paris. He says: "Adidas is not good at managing big names with personality, he prefers young players who listen." Aubameyang lost his captaincy at the end of last year for repeated late arrivals and was snowed under until he was released from his contract with Arsenal to Barcelona in January this year.
After the video came to light, Aubameyang took to Twitter to clarify: "Noticed that a video has been circulating lately, when I joined Barcelona not long ago and still have a lot of unhappiness inside me. Arsenal are having an excellent season and I wish my old teammates all the best, except for November 6 (Chelsea vs Arsenal)."
